B-Side HNL 24: Castle Park

One need only listen to the first few bars of any Castle Park jam to appreciate their ingenuity and virtuosity. A breezy melange of hip-hop and spacey, break-based rock, it must have taken nearly the same measure of imagination to craft their set as to construct the fabled Hawaiian amusement park of yore for which the band is named. Here, Castle Park expounds on their influences, their processes and their vision.

Also included in this episode is the brilliant Castle Park music video for “Night Writer” by Joseph K. Pa’ahana; another entertaining “Last Photo” session (in New York!) with filmmaker Ivan Cash; a lively music vid courtesy of Shinobi Ninja; and scorching performances by Honolulu’s Natas and visiting Oakland, CA outfit Sana in a rare afternoon-to-evening matinee at The Manifest.
